Lincoln enthusiasts and numismatists have something new to celebrate today. The second of four new Lincoln pennies was released this morning in Indiana, where Lincoln lived for 14 years.

The U.S. Treasury unveiled their 4 new designs for the redesigned penny. I have heard various complaints that the timing of the unveiling was in bad taste considering the current financial crisis. A friend had the great tongue-in-cheek comment, “Pennies still exist?”
