Voices of the Civil War

On May 18, 2011 President Lincoln’s Cottage will host the Heritage Voices of the Washington Revels in a public program titled “Voices of the Civil War.”

A special visit from President Abraham Lincoln and his secretary, John Nicolay, highlights a program of American folk songs, spirituals, patriotic music, and readings from the Civil War period.

This is an evening that is great for all ages! Bring a blanket and picnic and enjoy this special program on the south lawn of the Cottage.

The event begins at 6:00pm. Admission is FREE but reservations are strongly recommended. Email lincoln_cottage@nthp.org or call (202) 829-0436 x31228 to make a reservation.

Lawn chairs are permitted, alcohol is prohibited. The rain location will be in Stanley Chapel (adjacent to the Cottage). No food or drink is allowed in this location.
